Registration for fall classes begins in April. Classes fill on a first come first served basis, with priority for enrollment given to current and past members. Class size is limited in order to preserve the student-to-teacher ratio (9:1 for 4-5 year old program; 8:1 for 3-4year old program). There are two teachers for each class. Class size is limited to 18 students for the 4-5 year olds, and 16 students for the 3-4 year olds.

Children may be enrolled in either morning or afternoon sessions. The classes for 4-5 year old children run Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (morning or afternoon), and the classes for 3-4 year old children run Tuesday and Thursday (morning or afternoon). MTU Preschool strives to accommodate children who are enrolled in other childcare programs.

  • All members of the community are welcome.   • Non-English speaking children are welcome.
  • Children must be toilet trained (please read school policy).
  • Children must be 3 years old by December 1st to enroll in Tuesday and Thursday classes, and 4 years old by December 1st to enroll in Monday, Wednesday, Friday classes.

The $50 non-refundable deposit is applied towards the last tuition payment of the year. A tuition payment plan is available. Tuition is subject to change without notice. There is a $10 late fee for late tuition payments. MTU Preschool, Inc. is a cooperative preschool and relies on the participation of all families for our two fundraising events each year. Parents who wish to opt out of a fundraising event may make a $50 contribution to the preschool. Financial assistance may be available to qualifying applicants.

Scholarships Information for three year olds

MTU Preschool is pleased to announce that it has been selected as a provider for the Copper Country Great Start Early Childhood Scholarships. Awards are available for three year olds with selection based on financial need and scholarship availability. Parents interested in attending MTU Preschool using a scholarship should submit an application through the Copper Country Great Start Collaborative (available at ccgreatstart.org) and also call MTU Preschool at 487-2720 to reserve a place in the class.
